Dan Ryall - Vice-President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Dan joined Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries in January 2021 and is responsible for the Corporate Accountability & Integrity Division which includes: Corporate Responsibility, Corporate Secretary Office, Internal Audit, Legal, Policy & Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management departments.

Dan arrived from Shared Health Inc. where he served as the Provincial Lead – Legal Services. In addition to providing advice as general counsel to Shared Health, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and associated health care entities, he was responsible for the management of Legal Services, Privacy and Access, Internal Audit, and Insurance and Risk. Dan also served as corporate secretary to the Shared Health Board of Directors, where he assisted in the development of the organization as a new provincial health authority, including the legal changes necessary to effect health care system transformation.

Prior to entering the health care sector, Dan was a partner at one of the leading private law firms in Manitoba and brings many years of private and public legal expertise in a variety of disciplines.
Dan was first called to the bar in South Dakota in 1996 and then in Manitoba in 1999. He was the provincial co-chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Health Law Section, and past President of the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association. He was recognized by Lexpert as a Leading Practitioner in the field of Transportation Law.
