The generous spirit of MBLL’s employees is the heart of our workplace culture. Our employee driven giving program The Together Project represents the charitable efforts of the corporation and its employees. Through it our employees enjoy numerous ways for them to contribute to communities and causes they care about including donating through our annual workplace giving program, leading their own fundraiser with their coworkers or directly volunteering for the charity of their choice. Best of all, when an employee gives back through The Together Project, we reward their contribution with a matching corporate donation that amplifies their generosity. Here’s a quick overview of the many ways our employees can give.

Volunteerism
Employees have two paths to volunteering through MBLL’s The Together Project.
Corporate Driven
Throughout the year, MBLL supports the community through partner sponsorships that provide volunteering opportunities for our employees, alumni and their families and friends. Notable examples include the Manitoba Marathon, Pride Winnipeg, Special Olympics, and Harvest Manitoba.
Employee Driven
Employees can also choose to volunteer directly with causes they care about, including registered charities, non-profit organizations, and community sports groups.

Blood Donations
Since 2007, our employees have helped patients in need through the Canadian Blood Services Partners for Life program. Through this program our employees unite to donate blood or plasma, support the stem cell or organ donation registries, or raise awareness of the value of “paying it forward” through the CBS.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising/Drives
MBLL employees can conduct their own internal fundraising or collection initiatives with their coworkers for their chosen charitable causes.

Participant Canvassing
MBLL employees participating in a charitable fundraising event can invite their fellow employees to support their efforts with monetary pledges through The Together Project.

Annual Workplace Giving Campaign
Through MBLL’s Annual Workplace Giving Campaign employees can donate to over 85,000 Canadian registered charities. Donations are made via a payroll deduction program and processed through United Way Winnipeg.
Our Stories

Before dedicating his Sundays to delivering for Meals on Wheels (MOW) for the last 22 years, Ian Cheung began his career at MBLL 36 years ago working in retail before moving into the quality control department. He was pleased to discover how these life experiences would connect through the Volunteer & Employee Giving Program.
