Rosa is a member of Peguis First Nation of Manitoba. She is the Founder, President and CEO of the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute.
Rosa led the creation of the World Indigenous Business Forum for the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute in 2010. The forum has held events in Saskatoon and Vancouver, as well as internationally in Australia, Chile, Guatemala, Namibia, New Zealand and the United States.
As Executive Director she oversaw the start-up of Taking Charge! – a federal and provincial initiative that helps single parents on social assistance enter the workforce. Rosa was previously Managing Director, Workplace Diversity at the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, and at the Bank of Montreal she was Manager, Workplace Equality for Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
She is currently the Chair of First People’s Economic Growth Fund, a member of the Premier’s Economic Opportunities Advisory Board, and a board member of Empowering Indigenous Youth in Governance and Leadership.
Previous board experience includes the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board and Accreditation Canada. At the University of Winnipeg, Rosa was a member of the faculty of Business and Economic Alumni Committee and the Global College Advisory Council.
Rosa is the recipient of the YM-YWCA Women of Distinction Award and was named among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women’s Executive Network in 2014.
