Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries reports results for second quarter

Profits increase $27 million over previous year

WINNIPEG – Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries has implemented a number of changes to run its gaming and liquor operations more efficiently and with a stronger focus on customers and this has resulted in a notable growth in revenues.

For the second quarter of the fiscal year 2017/18, ended September 30, 2017, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ income was $327.6 million, an increase of $27 million (9%) from the same period last year.

Overall revenues, net of direct expenses were $505.3 million, an increase of $35.6 million (7.6%) from revenues of the prior year. Increases were seen in casinos, liquor operations, and Video Lotto.

Liquor & Lotteries has renewed its focus; taking more of a business approach to its operations. ” 

In recent customer satisfaction surveys, both Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino received an overall satisfaction score of 85%, the highest score ever. The overall satisfaction for Manitoba Liquor Marts is also the highest to date with 96% of respondents giving the stores a top grade.

As a Crown corporation, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries returns its revenues to the Province of Manitoba to support government programs and initiatives that are a benefit to all citizens.
